Disney has officially confirmed that it has a bisexual lead character on “The Owl House” series.
The 14-year-old Dominican-American girl, Luz Noceda, is the first bisexual character to make a Disney debut on a television series. The series follows Noceda’s adventure to becoming a witch, even though she does not have any magical abilities.
Dana Terrace, the creator of the series said in a tweet that at first some leadership at Disney was not too fond of the idea of having an LGBTQ+ character. Terrace herself identifies as bisexual and wanted to write about the character, so she really convinced Disney to make the character happen.
She got a lot of positive feedback from viewers where many of them thanked her for representing the LGBTQ+ community.
When I was first developing Owl House I always wanted to do a prom episode to make up for my own experiences. Back then PROM was an anagram for "Perennial Ritual Offering Maiden". I'm so INCREDIBLY grateful for the crew working to make this episode so badass. pic.twitter.com/Ak8dNVMAdo
