Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi was amongst the first films to make it to OTT platforms last year. Now, another film starring the actress is making its way for an OTT release. Titled Sherni, Balan’s upcoming film will release on Amazon Prime Video in June.

The actress made the announcement of the release by sharing her first look from the film. Sporting a green shirt, the actress can be seen holding a walkie-talkie in the poster. Sharing the poster on social media, Balan captioned the post as, “Fearless as she steps out into the world! Happy to announce my latest film Sherni.”

Vidya Balan will be seen portraying the role of a forest officer in the movie. Directed by Amit Masurkar, best known for his critically acclaimed 2017 movie Newton, the film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-series. The shooting of Sherni kickstarted last year, and had to be stopped when the nationwide lockdown was imposed in March. The team along with Vidya Balan returned to the sets of of the film in October 2020. The team extensively shot in the forests of Madhya Pradesh.
