The first trailer for A Gentleman, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, recently released and guess what? Suneil Shetty, the man who has women swooning over him with that newfound sex appeal (the salt and pepper beard, et al.), is making his big-screen comeback as the villain.
An action-comedy flick, directed by Indian-American duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. (of Go Goa Gone fame), the trailer has shades of Knight and Day (starring Tom Cruise) or even its Bollywood counterpart, Bang Bang (which was heavily inspired by the Hollywood film) starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.
For all those who don’t know, A Gentleman was long rumoured to be a sequel to the Hrithik-starrer but time and again, the makers have denied any association with the film.
In the trailer, Sidharth Malhotra plays a man who has his life sorted and who can’t wait to settle down. But then, there’s a sudden plot twist and the viewers get to know about a long held secret. Sidharth Malhotra is a spy (or an assassin) who is being chased by a gang of criminals, headed by the suave Suneil Shetty (prepare to drool, ladies).
The plot line may seem predictable in the trailer, but then there’s a whole lot of power-packed action (sequences) which will definitely enthrall the viewers. The editing is crisp and we cannot wait to see Jacqueline Fernandez display some badassery with her action moves.
The film is all set to to release on August 25. But until then, you can watch the trailer and try and draw parallels between Knight and Day and A Gentleman (they are pretty evident from the first scene itself).
