You Won’t Be Forgotten: Tributes Pour In As Veteran Actor Shashi Kapoor Passes Away At 79
Out of all the tributes that have poured in, the most emotional seems to be from Amitabh Bachchan who was his co-star in films like Deewaar and Kabhie Kabhie.
Shashi Kapoor breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, and we are all mourning the death of a fine actor who left a legacy of some wonderful films. He is well remembered for some memorable performances in films like Deewaar and Kabhie Kabhie, as well as international films like In Custody and Shakespeare Wallah.
It’s a huge loss for the film fraternity, and tributes have been pouring on Twitter from most of the celebrities.
Out of all the tributes that have poured in, the most emotional seems to be from Amitabh Bachchan who blogged about his friend and co-actor. Such was his love for his friend, that he couldn’t stand to see him in the state that he was while he was ailing.
“He had been ailing .. somewhere he had let himself go after the passing away of his dear wife Jennifer .. I had visited him on occasion in Hospital during some of the times he had been hospitalised earlier .. but I never went to see him again .. I would never have .. I never ever wanted to see this beautiful friend and ‘samdhi’ in the state I saw him in hospital ..
…. and I did not today, when they informed me that he had gone …,” wrote Bachchan.
