The Diet You Need To Follow In Order To Live A Long Life
The Meditteranean Diet is heavy in legumes, leafy vegetables, fruits, sources of protein like fish and lean meats and of course, olive oil
The Independent reports that according to scientists from the University of Athens, olive oil is far more effective than Viagra when it comes to issues of erectile dysfunction. A study was conducted on a group of 660 men with an average age of 67 and the results of the study showed that the Mediterranean diet is hugely beneficial in part because of the presence of olive oil.
That’s not all the Mediterranean Diet does, though. According to a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition, this diet decreases the risk of death by 25 per cent. Cooking Light reports that epidemiologist Marialaura Bonaccio, an author associated with the study, believes that all the elements of the diet come together to ensure the overall longevity of the body is maintained.
“The Mediterranean diet is rich in many anti-inflammatory foods, so for example, generally olive oil and fibres and also antioxidants,” she said, according to CNN.
“The main finding is that adherence to the Mediterranean diet is protective against all-cause mortality and also against some cardiovascular outcomes in a sample of elderly people,” she added.
