Popular fast-fashion retailer, Fashion Nova which went from being an Instagram favourite to a major brand, recently launched a children’s clothing line which has drawn major ire from people online.
Launched in late September, Nova Kids is what the company describes as “trendy fits for the stylish kid.” However, critics state that the clothing line is inappropriate for children.
“Can we talk about @fashionnova new clothing line for little girls? #saveourchildren,” tweeted Georgia-based U.S. House candidate Angela Stanton-King a day after the line’s launch.
“Children should be allowed to be children & have their innocence protected,” fellow Texas House candidate Jenny Garcia Sharon said in agreement.
The collection, parents feel, is too mature for children as it features midriff-baring tops, short skirts, and dresses and tight-fitting clothes.
