Inside The Wardrobe Of The 18-Year-Old Indian Model Who Walked For Dior

Fresh from his Paris Fashion Week debut for Dior, the 18-year-old model opens up his wardrobe to talk all-black dressing, worn-in leather, Chelsea boots and the style rule he swears by

For someone who just made his Paris Fashion Week debut walking for Dior, Aryan Acharya would rather look like he didn’t try too hard. The 18-year-old Mumbai model’s wardrobe is built around all-black fits, beaten-up leather jackets, straight jeans, Chelsea boots and the odd vintage find. Nothing too precious, nothing too complicated. Just one rule: get the fit right.

Even before his Dior debut, dressed in a sweeping black trench, white trousers and boots, Acharya kept things similarly simple. Breathe, trust the walk, find the rhythm. Not exactly the internal monologue you’d expect before one of the biggest walks of your career, but perhaps that’s the point.

Fresh from his first Paris season, Acharya opens up his wardrobe for Closet Diaries to talk about the leather jacket that gets better with age, his commitment to wearing black, the Dior trench he’d happily take home, and more.

How would you describe your off-duty style?
Effortless and a bit thrown-together — blazers, straight jeans, and something vintage. I like looking like I didn't try too hard.

What would we notice first inside your wardrobe?
So much black. I love an all-black outfit, usually finished with my Chelsea boots.

Which piece do you wear the most?
A worn-in leather jacket. It goes with everything and only gets better with age.

What were you thinking just before walking for Dior?
Just breathe and trust the walk. You block out the noise and focus on rhythm.

Which Dior look would you take home?
The tailored trench — structured but soft, exactly my kind of piece.

Which piece in your wardrobe means the most to you?
A leather jacket, or honestly a good Henley. Simple, reliable, and I reach for them the most.

What is your go-to travel outfit?
Wide-leg trousers, a soft knit, and sneakers. Comfortable, but put-together enough for a fitting.

What is the last thing you bought for your wardrobe?
Tortoiseshell sunglasses. Small buy, but now in almost every outfit.

What is the one style rule you swear by?
Fit over everything. The right fit makes even a cheap piece look incredible.

Boots or sneakers, and why?

Boots. They add structure to any outfit — sneakers are for rest days.
