Last February, the iconic fashion label, Prada, had announced the appointment of Raf Simons as the co-creative director of the brand. Yesterday, three decades after her first ready-to-wear collection was launched, head designer Miuccia Prada took her final bow for her solo collection at Milan Fashion Week.
Milan’s spring 2021 menswear season is an all-digital showcase, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Prada showcased its collection via a short film titled, ‘The Show That Never Happened,’ referring to the fashion industry’s virtual-only presentations, given the current situation.
About the collection and presentation, Prada’s press release stated: “These inherently and fundamentally echo the traditional fashion show, where each observer has their own physical and ideological vantage-point on the collection, their own opinions, their own observations.”
Prada is also the founder of MiuMiu, which falls under the Prada conglomerate. She andSimons will present their first joint collection later this year during the womenswear spring- summer 2021 season.
