Indian designers Falguni and Shane Peacock have received the prestigious Shiromani Award at the NRI World Summit 2022 for their contributions to the fashion industry, which was handed by GP Hinduja and Secretary-General Manu Jagmohan Singh in Dorchester, United Kingdom.
The Shiromani award ceremony was followed by an event held at the House of Lords the next day, where Shane Peacock was the keynote speaker through which she addressed the flourishing Indo-Britain relations and trade association.
Debuted in 2004, the designers are known for their maximalist design approaches as well as for blending Indian and western aesthetics. Elements such as heavy prints, patterns, embellishments and silhouettes are some of the key touches of their collections.
Indian celebrities such as Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor have been spotted wearing the label’s designs over the years on multiple occasion. On the international front, Sarah Jessica Parker donned an outfit from Falguni Shane Peacock for Sex And The City’s reboot, And Just Like That. Others such as Cara Delevigne, Zendaya, and Doja Cat, too, have sported the label’s gowns in the past.
