6 Grooming Products You Don’t Really Need in your Routine

Do you really need to invest in all the products your social media is targeting to you, not really

Wonder products, extremely expensive creams, miracle formula, the grooming aisles can be overwhelming. However, do we need every product that’s marketed to us? The answer is no; many of the products are marketing gimmicks that play on consumer’s insecurities regarding a concern or his urge to look better. And while your cabinet is overflowing with products, it’s no joke that skin and hair concerns are rapidly increasing. The reason is that you’re unable to cut the clutter on your shelf. Cutting out extras from your routine will not only help you to save your skin and hair health but will also save you the money spent on them. Here is the list of products you don’t need in your routine:

Toner

Cleansing-toning-moisturising–the CTM routine we all repeatedly hear about is actually not all that you need. The second step, toning, is an unnecessary extra step in the routine. Newer cleanser formulas and routines like double cleansing do not leave any residue behind that toners were invested to remove. All the toners that claim to target the specific concern aren’t potent enough to do so, therefore, skip this step.

Eye Creams

Yes, they are soothing and relax tired eyes after a long day, but they are good for just that. If you think any eye cream works on the under-eye concerns, you’re thinking it all wrong. Any hydrating moisturising is as good for your under-eye as an eye cream. Also, if your under-eye skin issues are genetic, we are sorry to break it to you that no eye cream can sort them out.

Facial Cleansing Devices

First of all, these devices are extremely expensive for the benefit they promise. A few thousand bucks just to clean your face, something is not right there! Also, invest in them if you want compromised skin barrier because these devices are harsh on the skin.

Body Firming Lotions

If these ads target and tempt you, go for a digital detox but don’t fall into the trap. These creams are nothing but just hydrators with caffeine and plant extracts that improve blood circulation. So, they may appear to work temporarily but there’s no long-term result. If you are looking to have toned and firmer muscles, hitting the gym would be a better option. As far as visible cellulite is concerned, let it show because you can’t photoshop the skin in real life.

High SPF Lotions

Wearing sunscreen is non-negotiable but putting money on a higher SPF number is not required. A sunscreen with SPF 30 with broad spectrum is enough to protect the skin and it costs less than SPF 70 or 100 which you don’t need. Anything between SPF 30 to 50 is good for sun protection.

Colour Enhancing Hair Products

You can protect your hair colour from bleeding quickly, but you cannot enhance the colour like a few products claim. In fact, colour enhancing products contain more detrimental ingredients than the hair colour itself. To keep the colour safe and intact for a long time, wash your hair less and use a dry shampoo which soaks up excess oil.
