While most of us may think that Bollywood stars have it all, some of them are unstoppable. After establishing themselves as successful actors, many actors have put their business acumen to work by launching new ventures and turning those into success stories. Let’s just say that Bollywood is now approaching fame and money in a different way, an entrepreneurial way!
Deepika Padukone
One of the most successful actors of the Indian film industry, Padukone is also known for her entrepreneurial skills apart from acting. The actor launched her skincare brand, 82e, almost two years ago and since the launch, the brand has rolled out successful ranges of skincare including products for face, body, and men’s grooming. The actor has gone on record to confess that she's been closely involved in the development, testing, and marketing of the products, and it shows in the positive reception of the brand in the market.
Shah Rukh Khan
Is there anything that the King of Bollywood cannot do? Perhaps, nothing! The fact that he’s one of the highest taxpayers in the industry proves that he’s not making money only through acting. His acting journey in Bollywood needs no introduction, but what also gets him accolades is his series of businesses–from running a production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, to owning an IPL team. While his production house has delivered a series of Box Office hits, Om Shanti Om, Dear Zindagi, and Badla to name a few, his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders has won three seasons of the tournament since its inception. So, if you think that he makes money only from his movies, that’s perhaps a small percentage of his total income through various businesses.

Suniel Shetty
The OG actor of Bollywood, Shetty is also a successful entrepreneur with multiple successful enterprises under his banner. Do you know that he owns multiple gyms across India, restaurants and Udipi cafes, a clothing brand, hotel properties, and a production company called Popcorn Entertainment. If you often think about what the actor is doing now when he’s not working in films, remember that he has many sources of income apart from movies.
Alia Bhatt
The young prodigy and now a global icon, Bhatt is known for her acting prowess. With multiple hits to her credit at a young age, she is one of the most successful actors in Bollywood today. Even after being named as the face of Gucci and having many brand endorsements to her name, Bhatt launched a kids’ clothing brand, Ed-a-Mamma, in 2019 and later collaborated with Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd to handle the operations. Apart from this, Bhatt has a knack of investing in start-ups where she sees future potential.
Salman Khan
Apart from delivering a couple of hits every year and owning Salman Khan Films, his production house, the actor runs a merchandise brand, Being Human and a fragrance brand FRSH. The former was launched to fund his non-profit organisation, Being Human Foundation, however that doesn’t take away from the actor’s business acumen.
Hrithik Roshan
One of the fittest actors in the industry, it wasn’t a surprise when Roshan launched his own athleisure brand HRX in 2013. The brand was a fresh but budgeted addition to otherwise basic athleisure options available in India. After his investment in the wellness brand, Cure Fit with their fitness centers Cult.Fit running Hrithik Roshan special workouts and diets, the actor has now launched HRX Gym in collaboration with Cult.Fit.
Katrina Kaif
Kay by Katrina, a makeup-brand launched by Katrina Kaif with e-comm giant Nykaa in 2019, is one of the most successful homegrown beauty brands today. The brand has been a hit among consumers, successfully connecting with young consumers by offering fuss-free products and simple solutions under budget.
Abhishek Bachchan
When it comes to entrepreneurship, Bachchan took a different route. The actor is a sport enthusiast and owns a team called Jaipur Pink Panthers in pro Kabaddi League and co-owns a football team called Chennaiyin FC in Indian Super League.
