Apple has launched a new website and app that will help people maintain safe practices amid the global spread of the coronavirus. It offers an online screening tool, information about the disease, and some guidance on when to seek testing or emergency care. Apple developed the site and app in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the White House.
In what is the deadliest day in the country’s fight against the novel coronavirus, the US death toll climbed past 3000 on Monday. However, to add some light in these times of darkness, New York saw the arrival of the 1000-bed US Navy hospital ship.
According to a Reuters tally, the reported cases climbed more than 163,000 in the world’s most powerful economy.
“If we do things together well – almost perfectly – we could get in the range of 100,000 to 200,000 fatalities,” Dr Deborah Birx, the coordinator of the White House’s coronavirus task force told NVC’s Today Show.
