Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next, a Sahir Ludhianvi biopic is one of the most anticipated projects in Bollywood. While initial reports suggested that the filmmaker had approached Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra for the role, it now appears that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been confirmed for the same. While Bachchan will play the titular role of the lyricist, Rai Bachchan will play the role of poetess Amrita Pritam.

This report is a cause for joy for fans who’ve been rooting for an Abhishek-Aishwarya reunion since they starred in Guru.

“Normally when it comes to announcing my future projects, I leave it to the prerogative of my directors and producers. I have just very recently okayed a wonderful script and idea and character. So, I’ll let them make the announcement. And that is to start much later this year,” Rai Bachchan had earlier said, reports Timesnownews.

The couple were earlier going to star in Anurag Kashyap’s production venture, Gulab Jamun but they quit the project over creative differences regarding the script, reports the news website.
