Sequels have become a popular choice amongst filmmakers. From Hungama 2 to Bunty Aur Babli 2, we have seen many films being revived. While filmmakers try to build on already established titles, some sequels work at the box office, while some ruin the franchise forever. However, one man who can be trusted with making good comedy film sequels is none other than Anees Bazmee.
The filmmaker is all set to direct a sequel to the 2002 classic comedy film No Entry, and that’s not all. Salman Khan, who starred in the lead role in the film, has given the project a go-ahead. Bazmee stated that he is now waiting for Khan to give him dates to get the film on floor.
Not just Khan, the filmmaker also confirmed that but the OG trio including Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan will star in the sequel. He revealed, “Salman bhai is there, there’s Fardeen Khan and Anil Kapoor. These three will be a part of the movie.” The film also starred Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu and Esha Deol as the female leads, but no confirmation about them returning for the sequel has been given yet.
No Entry 2 has been in the works for many years. When the film has completed its 14th anniversary, Anees Bazmee had revealed, “No Entry 2 is not a remake. It is a sequel. Since I had made the first one, I will be directing this one too. It has been fourteen years since No Entry released.”
He continued, “It has never been that when the movie is running on TV and people haven’t called to tell me how much they still enjoy the film, and laugh aloud while the climax of the film is playing. People not only appreciated the actors for their fantastic performances, but they also appreciated the writing and direction. “This one will be a much bigger film than the last one. It is also much better. The comedy in this is slick.”
The director is currently awaiting the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. The film hits the theatres on May 20.
