The nationwide protests against police brutality and targeting based on race following the death of George Floyd in police custody has led to a surge in books, shows, and podcasts around race.

 

According to research firm Parrot Analytics, the demand for the Netflix series, Dear White People has seen a surge of almost 329 percent while interest in When They See Us has grown by around 147 percent.

 

On Spotify, Childish Gambino’s “This Is America,” a 2018 song about race and violence in the U.S. has turned up again at the top 50.

 

“How to Be an Antiracist,” Ralph Ellison’s “Invisible Man” and Isabel Wilkerson’s “The Warmth of Other Suns” are few of the books on race relations that have sold out on Amazon.
