Remember the young man who hated Rachel in Friends or the boy who aged backwards in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? Brad Pitt gave the audience many iconic roles, apart from these two. But it looks like the actor might be ready to say goodbye to his career, which has spanned over 30 long years. 

Pitt, who will be seen in Bullet Train next, recently hinted at his plans to retire from acting. Talking to a leading magazine, the actor said he is in the ‘last leg’ of his career but will continue to make art in one way or another. 

He said, “I consider myself on my last leg… This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?… I’m one of those creatures that speak through art. I just want to always make. If I’m not making, I’m dying in some way.”

He went on to talk about how the Covid-19-imposed lockdown changed his perspective, adding that the experience helped him come to terms with his ‘low-grade’ depression and being able to experience ‘moments of joy.’

“I think joy’s been a newer discovery, later in life… I was always moving with the currents, drifting in a way, and onto the next… I think I spent years with low-grade depression, and it’s not until coming to terms with that, trying to embrace all sides of self — the beauty and the ugly — that I’ve been able to catch those moments of joy,” the actor ruminated. 

Brad Pitt starrer Bullet Train is set to premiere on August 5. The film also stars Sandra Bullock, Jory King, Andrew Koji, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Aaron Taylor–Johnson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Masi Oka, and Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio in key roles.
