The teaser of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Bholaa has been released today. While the film’s release is far away — March 30, 2023 — the makers have managed to rustle up considerable buzz around the movie. Bholaa also features actors Tabu, Sanjay Mishra, Makrand Deshpande, Deepak Dobriyal, Kiran Kumar, and Arpit Ranka in key roles. A day ago, the Drishyam 2 actor shared the first look of Bholaa, which also happens to be his directorial offering.
The movie sees the coming together of Tabu and Devgn yet again after Vijaypath, Thakshak, Haqeeqat, and Golmaal Again and the like.
The film follows the life of a man who yearns to meet his daughter, but fate has other plans for him. The teaser shows a girl, in an orphanage, waiting for someone to meet her. The scene soon shifts to a jail cell, where a person is shown smearing ash on his forehead. He is soon seen walking out of the jail with fellow prisoners, who seem to be happy with his release. Presumably, the man is Devgn.
Bholaa is the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster, Kaithi. The protagonist aka Karthi was played by Vikram and directed by Lokesh Kanagraj. In the original, a prisoner helps the policemen when they are ambushed by a gang of drug dealers. Since the person successfully helps the cops, they help him in return, to unite with his daughter.
Even before the movie’s release, Devgn has already started working on its sequel. Reports are rife that the actor has narrated the storyline to Salman Khan. Now only time will tell if Khan would be a part of the film or not. A little birdie tells us that Sallu bhai liked the script.
The film also bears a strange connection with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon’s Bhediya. A reliable source recently averred the same on the condition of anonymity: “The first teaser of Bholaa will be out next week and be attached to the 3D prints of Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya. It’s a strategic move to make sure that the audience experiences it in the format that it’s meant for.”
