The most recent fallout in Bollywood has to be between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar, which led to Aaryan being replaced in Dostana 2.

 

Actors being replaced in the films due to schedule issues has always been a regular business but it gets ugly when there’s a difference in creativity and professionalism.

Here are some instances from the recent past when actors walked away from films in Bollywood.

KARTIK AARYAN

Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar joined hands to work on the film, where Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya shot for a portion of the film before the pandemic. Aaryan was supposed to return for the shoot in 2021, but according to several reports, he kept stalling and never gave the dates to Johar. This has angered the filmmaker to an extend where he has reportedly decided to replace the actor from the film.

Priyanka Chopra walked away from Bharat, which starred Salman Khan. It had been reported that Chopra dropped the Bharat project to star opposite Chris Pratt in Cowboy Ninja Viking. She was replaced by Katrina Kaif.

 

SONU SOOD

Sonu Sood quit the film after Kangana Ranaut took over as the director. Sood had said that the original director Krish was a good friend and was not okay with him being replaced midway. In an interview with Barkha Dutt’s Mojo Story, he said, “I told her that she is a great friend of mine but I’m not comfortable in shooting what she is asking me to do, I said an okay to the previous script and director but I would like to walk out of this project.”

Aamir Khan dropped out of Vikram Vedha. Reports say that Aamir had loved the original version and was keen to star in the film, but had asked for lots of changes to make it a China-friendly film. He has been replaced by Hrithik Roshan.

The Ek Villain sequel would have been Aditya Roy Kapoor and Mohit Suri’s third film after Malang and the 2013 film Aashiqui 2. Mumbai Mirror reported that there were several creative disagreements between Suri and Kapur because of which, they decided to part ways. “The two used to be good friends once, but this has definitely affected the equation,” the source said. Arjun Kapoor will be seen in the film now.
