The actress gave birth to her first child Zack earlier this year
We’ve been vowed by her on-screen persona (be it Queen or Ae Dil Hai Mushkil), but Lisa Haydon is an even more beautiful person off the screen. She sent out a strong message with a post on breastfeeding Monday with a moving post on Instagram.
I’ve gotten loads of posts asking about life after having my son… esp to do with weight and fitness. Seeing as it’s World Breastfeeding Week- time to give some credit where credit is due. Breastfeeding has played such a big part in getting back into shape after giving birth to my baby. Breastfeeding has been challenging+time consuming (literally hours spent everyday trying to stimulate milk supply) but it’s such a beautiful way to bond and connect with your child plus all the nutritional benefits that your child gets from your milk. Look out for my blog post on mycityforkids.com on breastfeeding. Happy #worldbreastfeedingweek
In the picture, she can be seen feeding her son Zack who was born to the actress and husband Dino Lalvani in May. Haydon states the advantages of breastfeeding and even says that it helped her ‘get back into shape’ post pregnancy.
In the times when talking openly about breastfeeding still remains a stigma, it is nothing short of empowering to see the model remind us of how breastfeeding is an essential process in strengthening the mother-child bond, let alone the nutritional benefits.
The Aisha actress’ powerful post marks the end of World Breastfeeding Week that aims at normalising the breastfeeding culture globally. In addition to mothers from various walks of life, a number of celebrities have also pledged support to this campaign.
From Miranda Kerr and Gisele Bundchen to Liv Tyler and Alyssa Milano, celebrities have proudly shared intimate moments with their children on social media. It might have been a first for an Indian celebrity but Lisa Haydon’s message does set an example for this most natural and human cause. Here’s raising a toast to you super girl!
