Luca Guadagnino is set to direct a script by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldeberg based on Scotty Bowers, a World War 2 veteran who became an infamous bisexual male hustler and date-arranger for gay Hollywood movie stars from the 1940s to the ’80s.
The Matt Tyrnauer-directed documentary Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood was based Bowers’ book Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars. According to the book, Bowers ran his service from a gas station which he ran amidst the big studios of Hollywood.
Deadline reports that despite the sordid nature of the business, Bowers was a darling of the circuit because he created a safe environment for the gay members of Hollywood and created a situation where they could hook-up in secret.
