Madhuri Dixit is known for a lot of things – her ada, her grace, her brilliant acting skills but if one were to pick one talent from her repertoire, it would be dance.
Legend has it that only two actresses have dared to star in movies where they had to dance alongside Dixit – Karisma Kapoor in Dil To Pagal Hai and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Devdas. When Kalank releases, Alia Bhatt will join the two aforementioned actresses on this list.
Kalank is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films this year. Based around the time India was getting partitioned, it chronicles the lives of an elite family and those associated with them. It is a tale of love and loss and it stars Dixit as Bahaar Begum.
Today, we get to witness the iconic Madhuri Dixit dance again. Watch the video for Tabaah Ho Gaye below:
Ever since the images from Tabaah Ho Gaye began doing the rounds on social media, people began comparing her look to that of Chandramukhi’s in Devdas.
“Bahaar Begum is a different personality than say a Chandramukhi. So, we had to choreograph (the song) keeping her mentality in mind. The challenge in this was that Bahaar Begum’s character is such that given a choice maybe she wouldn’t have danced also. Her character is like that,” Dixit said in a group-interview, reports DNA.
Will she be able to outdo her performance as the tawaif with the heart of gold in Kalank? We’ll know soon.
