Madras High Court passed the stay order after film-maker, Guneet Monga approached the court and alleged that the Tamil film was to be remade by her and Suriya. He instead entered into a deal with Abundantia Entertainment without her consent. She went on to say that the South star did not even meet the other commitments under the original contract between the two.
A month ago, Suriya had announced the Hindi remake of his Tamil film Soorarai Pottru on Instagram. “Excited to announce our association with @Abundantiaent led by @ivikramix for #SooraraiPottru in Hindi, Directed by #SudhaKongara”, he captioned the image. Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham are being considered for the role of the lead actor in the Hindi remake of Suriya’s film. Buzz is that the makers are very keen on getting one of these actors to play the lead role of Maara. Depending upon the availability of their dates, one of these superstars will be finalised for the sole. It is being said that the deal will possibly come into fruition soon and the announcement will be underway.
Vikram Malhotra, the producer of the Hindi remake had been in talks with the makers of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film, 2D Entertainment, for the last six months. The two finally sealed the deal this summer. Sudha Kongara will be directing the Hindi version of the Suriya Sivakumar-led film too. Malhotra is known for films like Sherni, Shakuntala Devi, Airlift and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and fans are eager to see which actor do they get on board for this film.
