World Of Dance 2019 announced their winner on Sunday and it came as no surprise that The Kings took home the trophy and prize money of one million dollars.
The Mumbai based dance group consists of 14 individuals ranging from the ages of 17 to 27. They had been impressing the judges since the very beginning with their power-packed performances and astounding choreography. Their final performance was no different as it left the judges, Jeniffer Lopez, Ne-Yo, and Derek Hough captivated.
Sunday night’s final act had Canadian Contemporary Dancer Briar Nolet, The Kings of Mumbai, the sister duo of Ellie and Ava, Vpeez, a hip-hop group from Philipinnes and Unity LA, a 10 person squad from Southern California, performing against each other in the finale.
For their final act, The Kings performed a battle scene choreographed to perfection, which got them standing ovation from the judges and a score of 100 points.
The dance group was formed in 2008 and was founded by dancer Suresh Mukund. The Bolly-hop group had competed in competitions earlier including India’s Got Talent and also won a bronze medal in 2015’s World Hip Hop Dance.
12 weeks of intense dance-offs and meticulous training certainly paid off. The Kings have earned a name for themselves in the world of dance and we can’t wait to witness their future conquests.
