Media reports had suggested that Salman Khan was furious at Chopra’s last-minute decision to leave Bharat. Now, Khan has spoken about the incident in an interview with Mid-Day.

“It was sweet of her to tell us five days before the shoot that she couldn’t do Bharat,” he said.

“I’m glad Katrina is part of the film. She was Atul’s [Agnihotri, producer] first choice but Priyanka called Ali (Abbas Zafar) and said she wanted to do Bharat, so we considered her,” he added.

The newspaper report also suggests that Chopra dropped the Bharat project to star opposite Chris Pratt in Cowboy Ninja Viking. The Hollywood project has been infinitely delayed.

“I hope the other movie that she has signed, works out. Now that she is engaged, we are happy for her. I hope she gets married soon, has children and lives happily ever after,” the 52-year-old actor told the newspaper.
