2022 has been a good year for Bollywood. After Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa managed to keep the audiences at the edge of their seats, fans are clearly in for more pulsating thrillers. Lucky for them, the year promises a volley of thriller movie releases that are clearly worth a watch.

This movie hit the screens on August 19, and continues to amass rave reviews among fans of Anurag Kashyap. Starring Taapsee Pannu alongside Pavail Gulati, Dobaaraa is an adaptation of 2018’s Spanish language film, Mirage. Pannu, the protagonist, time travels, and an unusual twist of suspense just keeps unfolding as the movie progresses.
Gearing up for a release on September 30, Vikram Vedha features Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan in the lead. This movie is based on popular Indian folklore, Vikram Aur Betal, and captures the confusing situations of moral ethics through a story that is narrated by Vedha to Vikram.
When the first installment was released in 2015, the movie raked in approximately Rs 938.5 million at the domestic box office. Fast forward to 2022, and the second installment will be released on November 18. The cast remains the same, with Ajay Devgan and Shriya Saran playing lead roles.
This Arjun Kapoor-starrer releases on November 4. It is the directorial debut of Aasmaan V Bhardwaj, who is the son of Vishal Bhardwaj. Kuttey boasts of a stellar cast with Arjun Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, and Konkana Sen Sharma. The plot details are not out as yet.
As the name suggests, this is a festive release and reportedly will release on December 23. It is being directed by Sriram Raghavan who has directed movies like Agent Vinod, Badlapur, and Andhadhun. Aside from seeing Katrina Kaif in the lead role, this movie also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Vinay Pathak.
This is a comedy-horror film slated to release on November 25. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Bhediya will see Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The movie is a part of the horror comedy universe of producer Dinesh Vijan, who had worked on films like Stree, Roohi, and Munjha.
This is Taapsee Pannu’s 5 film of the year, and she’s clearly on a roll. Just like Dobaaraa, this film is a remake of a Spanish film, Julia’s Eyes. This will also mark Pannu’s debut as a producer. In Blurr, the narrative follows the protagonist, who is on her quest to find the killer of her sister. But, she is strapped for time as far as completing her mission is concerned.
