Tom Cruise’s leaked audio of his outburst against the Mission: Impossible 7 crew, during the December 2020  shooting of the film was major news for everyone. While seeing him perform difficult stunts is not an unusual sight, listening to him shout at people shocked everyone. Tom Cruise has finally opened up about the incident and said that he feels he did the right thing.

He told Empire, “I said what I said. There was a lot at stake at that point. But it wasn’t my entire crew. I had the crew leave the set, and it was just select people.” He also asserted that the production didn’t stop. “And here we are, continuing to film.”

“All those emotions were going through my mind. I was thinking about the people I work with, and my industry. And for the whole crew to know that we’d started rolling on a movie was just a huge relief. It was very emotional,” he added. Tom Cruise had reportedly spent USD 700,000 for the team to live on cruise ships. He wanted everyone to stay in a safe bubble, and to avoid the risk of an outbreak.

For anyone who has forgotten what Tom Cruise had said, he was heard shouting “If I see you do it again, you’re f-king gone. And if anyone in this crew does it, that’s it — and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever f-king do it again. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf-kers,” on the audio clip.

Earlier it was that the shooting of the 8th instalment of the franchise will see some changes post the pandemic. Deadline had reported, “As Mission: Impossible 7 nears completion after a remarkable globetrotting pandemic-era shoot, I can reveal that the plan to shoot the franchise’s eighth edition back-to-back has been altered by Paramount.”

This is simply down to the shifting release calendar. Star Tom Cruise will now be needed on promotional duties by the studio for Top Gun: Maverick ahead of that film’s planned release on July 2, and will be out of action for a period. Once that film has rolled out – hopefully to packed cinemas in a post-Covid world – production on MI: 8 can begin, meaning the gap shouldn’t be too impactful.”
