Global superstar Priyanka Chopra had once famously said that God had taken the weekend off to make Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and we’re sure everyone agrees. Frequently termed “the most beautiful woman in the world” in media, Rai has been worshipped throughout her career for her green eyes, incandescent skin and her characteristic nazakat. However, the 44-year-old actress is so much more than her looks.
Throughout the course of her long career, Rai has delivered powerhouse performances and has received countless awards and accolades. She is a Padma Shri awardee and has also been honoured with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2012. In 2003, she achieved another milestone, becoming the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival.
Now, according to a report in Filmfare, it appears that Rai Bachchan may also venture into production soon.
“There are a lot of talks happening about production. I have been getting feedback from many people, so, it’s encouraging. However, I haven’t seriously dwelled on this thought,” she said.
“I have worked in the industry for years now. I’ve always been an extremely committed actor and these are roles, which demand the highest amount of commitment. I believe I have the acumen to do it myself today. I have always been a team player and made sure my colleagues, director, producer and everyone else is on the same page. So, I guess it’s meant to be,” she added.
That’s not all – the actress also spoke about direction and how she’d like to do it someday.
“I do want to direct a movie someday. There’s been chatter. But I have never set time and energy to work on it. Now, I should be seriously thinking about it. My colleagues have always teased me and said, ‘Why don’t you turn a producer or director and make a film of your own?’ So, maybe, a few years down the line, I should be able to live up to it,” she said, reports Filmfare.
