Will Smith has made himself somewhat of an icon in his decades of being in the public eye. From being the goofy Fresh Prince of Bell-Air to being the almost sombre, struggling father in Pursuit of Happyness, the man has been the one to embody more than one character that moved audiences.

 

He has also fostered a connection with his audience that goes beyond the silver screen. Making the best use of the gift of social media, he has made sure that the people who watch him get to know him, a practice many in the public light refrain from. Not only is he dotty, doing stunts on his social media, he also tends to detail his experience of certain moments of reality that every human has to brave from time to time.

One such moment came in May where the 53-year-old actor decided to share with the world that he is in the worst shape, physically, than he ever remembers being in.

First, he shared an image of himself wearing a pair of shorts with an open sweatshirt, with just a one-line caption to let us in on this new journey for him.

In his next post, he made his intentions clear, things were going to change. “This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry. I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better,” he wrote along with a boomerang-like video of him in a pair of shorts, paired with a snarky song. “No more midnight muffins…this is it! Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!! Teaming up with @YouTube to get my health & wellness back on track. Hope it works!” he continued.

He has, over the months, shred snippets of this shift in lifestyle. It seems, now, that the actor has succeeded in his attempts. His latest upload shows us what he has been up to for the last five months.

 

In the clip in question, the actor appears to be in bed when is startled by the voice of a male trainer at the gym saying, “Are you in bed right now? Get the f**k up!” Smith then jumps up and the video cuts to his array of workouts that he’s seemingly been doing over the past few months. The Bright actor can be seen lifting heavy weights, doing pull-ups, performing ab exercises, and running on a track in the clips. He already appears to be leaner and much more athletic.

“And to think Sundays used to be for muffins #bestshapeofmylife,” he captioned the reel.

 

The actor’s trainer tends to go for a pyramid training routine, in which he starts light and goes heavy and then goes back to lighter weights for each exercise.

This is not the first time that the actor has undergone such a drastic transformation. He went from close to 80 kg to a muscular 100 kg for his role in Ali.
