Ronaldo asserted how only five out of 100 stories about him, in the last few months, are accurate
Cristiano Ronaldo has promised to expose the lies perpetrated by the media about his future at Manchester United through an interview that will come in a couple of weeks.
Ronaldo said only five out of 100 stories about him in the last few months are correct. “They know the truth when they interview in a couple of weeks. The media is telling lies. I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I made, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip,” wrote Ronaldo on Instagram.
Ronaldo, 37, was desperate to force a move away from his current club, but found no buyers in the transfer market. He was linked to clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid, but none of them went ahead with the deal.
Oliver Kahn, the CEO of Bayern Munich, said Ronaldo, despite being one of the greatest players, doesn’t fit into the club’s philosophy at this moment. Similarly, the senior figures at Atletico and Chelsea were not fully sold on the idea of signing a five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Ronaldo has been accused of being a negative influence on the team, after Erik ten Haag’s tenure at Manchester United started off with two crushing defeats. The Athletic reported that the Portuguese superstar has cut himself off from the rest of the team, and eats his lunch alone.
The 37-year-old has 12 months left in the contract. While Ten Haag is reportedly open to the idea of Ronaldo’s exit, the club’s upper hierarchy doesn’t want to sell him.
Gary Neville, the former Man Utd player, said Manchester United will finish in the bottom half of the point table in the absence of Ronaldo. “The problem they have now is if they lose him, there’s nothing left in terms of the goal-scoring part of the pitch,” noted Neville.
”I genuinely think if they don’t bring players in or if they bring poor players in and he leaves, I genuinely think they can finish in the bottom half of the table,” he added.
