As Real Madrid’s star, Cristiano Ronaldo joins Juventus, he becomes one of the four most expensive players in the history of the game. Ronaldo was with the club for nearly a decade and won four Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles while he was with them.
“The time has come to open a new stage in my life, that’s why I asked the club to accept transferring me,” he said, according to the BBC. The news agency also reports that a deal worth £105m has been reached between the two clubs. The Guardian reports that the forward has signed a four-year-deal with an annual salary of about €30m.
“For Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of its great symbols. Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has marked one of the brightest times in the history of our club and world football. Real Madrid will always be your home,” the club said in a statement to the Press.
