An 11-year-old tweet made by Deepika Padukone is going viral, all because of RCB.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have resumed their play in the latest iteration, Season 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They were all out at 92 runs as Kolkata Knight Riders won by 9 wickets.

Deepika Padukone has been a common face in the IPL audience, especially around the inception of the televised games.

“92!!is that even a score!? Way to go RCB! with u guys all the way…watching every second of it live!” Deepika had tweeted back in 2010 about a game. The Challengers, then led by Kumble, won the game by 10 wickets against Rajasthan Royals. Jacques Kallis being named the man of the match.

This Monday, however, the team were not in their best form on the field. KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell bagged three wickets each while Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer scored 82 runs for the first wicket while chasing a low total of 93 runs. Kolkata won the match by 9 wickets in just 10 overs to strengthen their case for playoffs qualification.

“It was important to get a good partnership on this surface. We honestly didn’t expect that much dew to kick in so early, we couldn’t have predicted that. It looked like a good wicket to bat on first up. We were 42-odd for one and then lost about five wickets within 20 runs from there, which is a very difficult situation to come back from. Bit of a collapse there for us, bit of a wake-up call and might as well have this at the start of the second leg so that we know exactly what we need to work on,” Virat Kohli has said.

RCB are still on course to finish among the top four and qualify for the playoffs. After 8 matches, they are placed third in the points table with 5 wins and 3 losses.
