Florentino Perez, who is 74, has been re-elected as Real Madrid’s president for a consecutive fifth term. He won the election unopposed, which was held last week. He has been serving as a president of Real Madrid for 12 years since taking over from Ramon Calderon in 2009. Under his command, Madrid clinched their 10th champions league crown in 2014.&nbsp;The club called the election on April 1, with potential candidates having until April 12 to enter the running. With nobody coming forward, Perez was the only candidate in the election and was re-elected by the club.&nbsp;The club confirmed his presidency on its official website, and stated,&nbsp;“This Electoral Board, having seen only one candidacy presented and by virtue of article 40, section E, point 2 of the club’s current bylaws, proclaims Don Florentino Perez Rodriguez as president of Real Madrid.”&nbsp;This was Perez’s third consecutive victory in the club’s election unopposed and a fifth consecutive victory in the club’s election for the presidency post. The 74-year-old has taken in two spells with the Liga giants, spending a total of 18 years in the most demanding and prominent of sporting roles in Spain.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“This Electoral Board, having seen only one candidacy presented and by virtue of article 40, section E, point 2 of the club’s current bylaws, proclaims Don Florentino Perez Rodriguez as president of Real Madrid.”
