Starting October 23, the competition will begin between the teams who will battle it out on the cricket ground to reach the finals. The semifinals then take place on November 10 and 11, and the final match will take place on November 14 in place in Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Unlike IPL, each team participating in the World Cup receives a sum of cash, even the teams that are eliminated in Round 1. The total money, which sums upto US $5.6 million, is distributed amongst 16 competing teams. The winners of this year’s T20 World Cup will receive $1.6 million. The winning team will be the only team to receive at least $1 million.
The lowest amount of money that a team can take home is $40,000, which is the match fee and is given to all the teams in Round 1, regardless of whether they win or lose in the rounds ahead. If a team wins during Round 1, it receives $40,000 for each win. Similarly, if a team wins in Round 2, it gets $40,000 for each win.
