Historic Win, Historic Payday: Indian Team Earn ₹90+ Crore For World Cup Glory

Let's explore what the world champions took home for their extraordinary feat.

India crushed South Africa by 52 runs in the final to win the Women's ODI World Cup for the first time, in front of a raucous home crowd in Navi Mumbai.

Deepti Sharma was the star of the night, whose dual contributions with both bat and ball—a half-century and five-wicket haul—ensured India stay ahead in the crucial moments. It was only fitting that the moment that sealed the triumph, a dismissal of Nadine de Clerk, involved both Deepti and the Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who couldn't contribute much with the bat tonight but took audacious strategic decisions that heavily influenced the game.

Chief among those was entrusting Shafali Verma with the ball, after the swashbuckling batter had smashed 87 in the first innings. Verma did not disappoint, claiming two crucial wickets that broke the back of the formidable South African batting unit.
