Sometimes, people are never happy with their birth names. Some feel it doesn’t suit them, and some feel it doesn’t define them. For Joan Román, it was both. So, he legally changed his name to something he felt suits him better — Goku Román.

The ex Man City player, who currently plays for the Polish second division club Miedź Legnica, took to Instagram to officially announce his name change. “Hungry for more,” the 27-year-old captioned his latest post, followed by the hashtag “#Gokuseason.”

As if he wasn’t already legally committed to his love for Goku and Dragon Ball Z, Román even changed his profile picture of himself in a blue Super Saiyan form, technically called the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan from. In the anime, this form is described as a “Saiyan with the power of a Super Saiyan God [who] further transforms himself into a Super Saiyan.”

Goku Román explained that his new name translates his mentality and ethos perfectly. “I am grateful to Joan for everything I lived and the positive things and lessons that have given me. But now I am Goku. I chose that name because I feel identified with its values and what it represents to me: perseverance, empathy, growth against obstacles, light, and positivity,” said Román.
