Earlier last month, we received news of high-profile players like Neymar Jr and Zlatan Ibrahimovic testing positive for coronavirus. Now, Juventus star and one of the world’s greatest football players, Cristiano Ronaldo, has also tested positive for coronavirus, putting Juventus and Portugal’s upcoming matches in jeopardy.
Ronaldo’s positive coronavirus test result was confirmed on October 13 while he was away on international duty with Portugal. Currently, the 35-year-old is not showing symptoms, but has been ruled out of playing at least three matches. The number can increase if his status does not improve.
According to Goal, he is confirmed to miss Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Sweden on October 14, Juventus’ Serie A game against Crotone on October 17, and the Champions League group-stage opener against Dynamo Kiev on October 20.

But what’s on everyone’s mind is if Ronaldo can take part in the much-awaited Juventus Vs. FCB match, or, more like, the much-awaited Ronaldo Vs. Messi match. The game is set for October 28, and Juventus is confident that Ronaldo will be fit to play. Unless, his condition does not improve.
All we care about is Ronaldo’s health and well-being over a match. But Portugal boss Fernando Santos reassured everyone he’s doing well and is still eager to play.
“He is managing the situation very well. He is in the room, saying he wants to play, he talks to us from upstairs [from his balcony],” Santos said.
“He is completely asymptomatic, he is okay, without any symptoms, he doesn’t even know what happened to him.”
