Reportedly, some fans of the Mexican football team also began celebrating in front of the South Korean embassy
In a shock 2-0 loss to South Korea, defending world champions Germany stumbled out of the World Cup on Wednesday. The German team, known for their cold and calculating moves, failed to prevent goals from South korea’s Kim Young-gwon and Son Heung-min – the latter scored the shot moments before the final whistle.
The German team are four-time defending champions and haven’t been eliminated in the first round of the World Cup since 1938. Twitter collectively lost its chill the moment it became evident that Germany would lose.
Well-wishers of Sweden and Mexico were ecstatic following Germany’s defeat which helped the teams advance from Group F. Reportedly, some fans of the Mexican football team also began celebrating in front of the South Korean embassy.
