We give you the skinny on the most anticipated summer movies this year
There’s no escaping the fact that summers are here. Or maybe there is. That’s the whole point of a summer blockbuster isn’t it? Well, even in the parts of the world where summers aren’t something to escape from, they bring with them a list of the year’s most awaited movies. We’ve put them together for you:
Avengers: Age of Ultron
When? April 24th
What to look out for? Another invasion on an epic scale. This time however, the enemies have evolved and will challenge the group on a fundamental level, putting their efficacy to the ultimate test. Also, Hulk vs Ironman.
Mad Max: Fury Road
When? May 15th
What to look out for? Glorious dystopian car chase sequences, outrageous vehicles and savage villains that warn you of a possible future full of horror and despair. Our hope? One Tom Hardy.
Tomorrowland
When? May 22, 2015
What to look out for? A sci-fi adventure seen through the Disney lens. Tomorrowland is as mysterious as it is gloriously shot. Watch it for parallel dimensions, theme parks and a star cast that includes George Clooney and Hugh Laurie.
San Andreas
When? May 29th
What to look out for? A chance to live every Californian’s greatest nightmare – a city swallowing earthquake. Luckily there is Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson to navigate you through the nightmare. It’s one force of nature against another.
Entourage
When? June 5
What to look out for? Vince, Turtle, Drama, Eric and Ari are back to take on the cutthroat streets of Hollywood. A classic tale of friendship, loyalty and ambition – now finally on the big screen.
Jurassic World
When? 12th June
What to look out for? An extravagant monster-fest with giant genetically manipulated dinosaurs feeding on hapless humans and other dinosaurs. And you thought you had a tense working environment.
Terminator Genisys
When? July 1
What to look out for? A throwback to one of the greatest sci-fi movies, plot twists and a chance to hear Arnold say “I’ll be back” again.
Ant-Man
When? July 17th
What to look out for? An unconventional and light-hearted take on the superhero genre.
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
When?July 31st
What to look out for? A 53-year old Tom Cruise upping the ante for the world’s most daring stunts. That’s actually him stuck to that plane in the trailer. No CGI.
