Virat Kohli Adds Two Cars Worth ₹2.09 Crore to His Garage

The cricket legend recently expanded his collection with a Land Rover Defender 110 and BMW iX1 joining his fleet of Audis and Bentleys.

When you’re Virat Kohli, splurging on luxury cars is just part of the game. The Indian cricket superstar, already known for his enviable collection of Audis and Bentleys, recently added not one but two new rides to his garage: the rugged Land Rover Defender 110 priced at ₹1.42 crore and the sleek all-electric BMW iX1 for ₹66.90 lakh. Together, that’s a whopping ₹2.09 crore spent on some serious automotive muscle. (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi)

Let’s kick things off with the Defender 110 SUV. Renowned for its off-road prowess, the Defender nameplate signifies one of JLR’s most iconic and capable line of SUVs. Think of it as JLR’s G-Wagen rival. Under its hood, you've got engine options that range from a 2.0-litre petrol to a 3.0-litre diesel. But the highlight is the 5.0-litre V8 that delivers 525 PS. All that power is managed through an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

In terms of creature comforts, the Defender comes with 14-way heated and cooled seats, an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. Additionally, you get 14-speaker Meridian sound system, and ambient lighting. There’s also a head-up display, three-zone climate control, and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. Safety wise, the Defender’s got you covered: ABS with EBD, six airbags, electronic stability control, blind spot assist, a 360-degree camera, and adaptive cruise control. Land Rover also throws in four customization packs—Explorer, Adventure, Country, and Urban.

Apart from the Defender Kohli was also seen in the BMW iX1, driving around Mumbai with his wife, actress Anushka Sharma. The electric SUV, based on BMW’s entry-level SUV model, offers the bragging rights of a green numberplate besides cutting-edge tech like self-parking, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 10.7-inch infotainment screen running BMW’s latest iDrive 8 OS, and high-end extras like a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting. Feature-wise, you get front seats with electric adjustments, memory settings, and massage functions. On the safety front, it gets ABS with Brake Assist, six airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and more.

Under the hood, the iX1 is powered by dual electric motors that deliver a combined 313 PS and 494 Nm of torque to all four wheels. This setup helps the iX1 sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. The 66.4 kWh battery offers a WLTP-claimed range of 440 km. Charging options include a standard 11kW charger, which takes 6.3 hours for a full charge, while a 130kW DC fast charger can juice it up from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 29 minutes.
