In the realm of sports and fashion, a long-awaited marriage has finally blossomed, as the Olympics gears up to showcase its most stylish iteration yet in Paris. With the illustrious fashion capital as its backdrop, designers from around the globe are diligently crafting unique national team uniforms to ensure their athletes shine under the spotlight.

Leading the pack is Ralph Lauren, a titan in the fashion world, who will outfit the US team in a casual yet sophisticated ensemble of blue jeans and blazers for the opening and closing ceremonies. Meanwhile, renowned Italian designer Giorgio Armani continues to display his sartorial prowess by designing Italy's uniforms for the Games since 2012. Their podium tracksuits proudly bear the phrase “W Italia,” a spirited shorthand for “Eviva Italia” or “Long live Italy.” This sentiment could easily be extended to the venerable designer himself, Giorgio Armani, who celebrated his 90th birthday on July 11.
