Rethink your plans of getting drunk on the beaches of Goa

If you had plans of getting drunk on a beach in Goa, we suggest you rethink those plans or at least prepone them.

According to a report by Times Travel, the state will be ban drinking on the beaches of Goa or any kind of public place after August 15. Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, announced that he plans to implement this in August, in time for Independence Day.

The state plans to get very strict with their littering rules and wish to raise the level of civic responsibilities of people visiting and residing in the state. The CM announced that there will be hefty fines on people who are seen drinking in public. Littering will also result in an equally hefty fine.

These strict implementations were sparked when the CM caught and warned college students found drinking beer along the newly developed river front. “I have caught two-three college students going there with beer bottles. This is not done,” Mr Parrikar said. He also added on how that the bottles being thrown in the rocks along the river front were putting other people at risk.

“Mind you, there will be a heavy fine if you are found drinking (in public) from August. We are issuing a notification very soon. I intend to do it before August, so that we can implement it from August 15,” NDTV reported him saying.
