Netflix Is Testing A Mobile-Only Format That Costs Rs 250 Per Month

It’s about time

We all need to shell out a huge amount of money to maintain a Netflix account here in India. The company isn’t doing as well as it should be due to this exorbitant price tag of Rs 500 per month and it is working on a solution for it.

The streaming giant is now testing a new mobile-only subscription plan in “select countries” including India, that is reported to only cost Rs 250, according to The Verge. The amount is exactly half of what the company charges now for a basic streaming plan which covers all devices.

“We are always looking for ways to make Netflix more enjoyable and accessible. We will be testing different options in select countries, where members can, for example, watch Netflix on their mobile device for a lower price and subscribe in shorter increments of time,” Netflix told The Verge.

However, this is only a test, so the feature might only be available to a limited number of users. Netflix has not confirmed if this feature will be permanent or not.
