Seth Rogen and his long-time childhood friend and film-maker, Evan Goldberg have teamed up to start their own line of cannabis.
After making hugely successful films like Pineapple Express, Sausage Party, Superbad and The Interview, the duo has decided to team up once again, to launch their very own cannabis company — Houseplant.
In a statement released by Canopy Growth, an Ontario-based cannabis grower that Houseplant is currently working with, said:
“Houseplant is the result of years of experience and dedication, with each element and expression thoughtfully designed to make it easier for people to learn to love cannabis as much as Houseplant does.”
Rogen said how this is a project he’s always had a passion for and aspired to create.
“Houseplant is a passion we’ve brought to life through drive and dedication. Every decision we’ve made for the business reflects the years of education, first-hand experience and respect we have for cannabis.”
His partner, Evan Goldberg also commented:
“We are so proud to be launching in Canada, our home. After spending five years diligently preparing for the launch of this company, we’re excited to be able to share our passion for cannabis with Canadians in this way.”
Houseplant’s first strain of weed will be Houseplant Sativa. Two other strains called Houseplant Hybrid and Houseplant Indica will be available later this year, along with a range of pre-rolled joints and soft gel capsules.
Along with cannabis strains, Houseplant will also be releasing a set of three vinyl records, all specially curated for the type of strain you smoke. The Sativa LP is full of upbeat tracks, the Indica LP is supposed to be mellow and the Hybrid LP has a perfect mix of both.
