The coronavirus pandemic has undoubtedly placeD us all in the same damn boat. All we’ve got is each other. During these hard times, Binod has allowed us to have a little fun and come together as a group. But who is he? And why is everyone talking about him?
How Did It Begin?
It reportedly all started with a simple YouTube video posted by a channel called Slayy Point. The video showcased creators Abhyudaya and Gautami Kawale diving into the comments of Indian YouTube videos and roasting them. The video was titled “Why Indian Comments Section is Garbage (BINOD),” and highlighted one specific user named Binod who only commented his name several times beneath videos.
Who Is Binod?
We don’t really know. All we know is his name is Binod Thakur and has a YouTube channel named ‘Binod Tharu’ with zero videos. His YouTube activity only involves him dropping his first name in the comments.
The Binod Tsunami That Followed
Once the video was up, people around the Internet started doing the same thing and meme pages did what they do best, produce hilarious memes online that ended up being heavily circulated. The meme trend then snowballed into an online bombardment of Binod everywhere, with even brands joining in, including the police forces of several cities.
