Bayern lost to PSG in the last week’s quarter-finals first leg 3-2. Despite Bayern’s valiant efforts, they were only able to score a single goal in the second leg of the aggregate match, on which PSG progressed on away goals, taking the final aggregate score to 3-3.

PSG will now join the top four in the Champions League for the final stages. They will now face Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund.

In their history of 51 years, Germans will qualify for the third time in the league’s semi-final stage, and also have the chance to progress for the second time in the finals of the Champions League.

Last year, Bayern denied their only chance to take the trophy home, but this year, they are looking strongly to get over the line, and make history for the German football club.

“Normally, my team has so much quality in the final third, but today they were lacking that final punch. We have to accept that, even though we would have liked a different outcome,” said Bayern coach Hansi Flick. Hansi also hinted that he will give a thought about his future with Bayern towards the end of the season.

“Now we’re in the semi-finals and we can dream big,” said Neymar. Will Champions League be getting a new champion this season? It all depends now on how they take their good form ahead, and get the job done.
