Virat Kohli has managed to ruffle up a few feathers with his aggressive celebration during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. While the fans generally love his animated celebrations, many felt Kohli should have shown some restrain against his former colleague and the senior player MS Dhoni.

The incident happened in the penultimate over of the game, when MS Dhoni, while trying to deposit the ball over mid-wicket, found Rajat Patidar in the deep. Kohli couldn’t control his emotions as this wicket ensured a win for Royal Challengers Bangalore after three back-to-back defeats.

He burst into joy, threw some air punches, and also uttered some expletives. Although this is not something fans haven’t seen before, CSK fans found his celebration to be insulting to their captain.

On the batting front, Kohli’s form remains a big concern for both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Team India. Against Chennai, Kohli looked sluggish from the beginning, and consumed 33 balls for his 30 before getting bowled by Moeen Ali.

After two successive ducks, Kohli managed a half-century. But his dismal strike rate didn’t go unnoticed, and many thought his innings played a major role in the defeat.

One RCB fan wrote: “You are the predominant reason that we are not winning. I am your biggest fan but reality is reality.”

Ian Bishop, the former West Indies cricketer and broadcaster, too expressed concern about Kohli’s approach in T20s.

“This is something we’ve been seeing with Virat, not just this season. Even last season, I remember, and even sometimes internationally, he’ll fly out, he didn’t fly out tonight, and then he’ll slow down again. So, I’m concerned,” said Bishop.
