It’s awfully tough to score a century in T20Is. Not only do you have lesser balls to face, the boom or bust nature of the game means that you are likelier to lose your wicket. That said, Colin Munro, the Kiwi batsmen has not achieved this feat once, but thrice! He is currently a record-holder as no other batsman has managed to achieve this feat.

If you were wondering how many centuries have been scored overall, here’s a complete list courtesy of Cricinfo Statsguru.

As you can see, the only Indians to have scored centuries are Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Suresh Raina. Even a batsman like Virat Kohli hasn’t been able to achieve this feat.

The total number of hundreds (as of 3rd January, 2018) is 30.

Coming back to Munro, he discussed his batting philosophy in an interview with Cricinfo. “When you’re young, you don’t believe in such things [mental conditioning]. There is work to be done but as long as I’m striving to be better, it’s all good. I’ve tried meditation but I can’t sit still for long. So talking to people who I trust helps me,” he said.

“I ask myself couple of questions at the end of each game: Did the bowler get me out? Did I get myself out? If I answer them honestly, then the reflection process is pretty good,” he added.

In an interview with Cricfit, Munro said when asked about how he started playing cricket, “I started playing the game with my older brothers in our backyard. We lived opposite school. In my childhood, we lived in Maidstone, a village where children would play cricket after school hours and that’s how it all started.”

We really hope Munro scores more hundreds and his career blooms.
