Jean Paul Gaultier Plays Around With Skin, Smoke And Scandal For PFW

Jean Paul Gaultier sent two models down the runway with the slogan “Free The Nipple”/ “Tetons Libres” written across their bare chests

Skin was so in at the Jean Paul Gaultier show during Paris Fashion Week. We’ve always seen some form of aesthetic nudity or the other on the catwalk – take the Maison Margiela ‘Artisanal’ show which had everything from a rib cropped tank top to plastic coats worn with cropped t-shirts and tiny rubber pants. Then, of course, there was Dolce and Gabbana’s The Naked King Men’s Fashion Show for MFW.

Now, the one and only Jean Paul Gaultier debuted looks that were in support of the Free The Nipple movement. The French fashion designer sent two models down the runway with the slogan “Free The Nipple” and “Tetons Libres” written across transparent tops. Gaultier was all about sheer and skin this season. One of the most eye-popping looks from the collection was a gown which was inspired by cigarette smoke.

This year, during New York Fashion Week, fashion designer Kaimin debuted ‘vagina wigs’ aka merkins. To say that it had quite an effect on the audience would be a massive understatement.
