Online search platform Stylight has released a sportswear report, which details the styles and products that were trending this year.
The platform stated that there was a 55 percent increase in clicks on sportswear in 2020 as compared to 2019. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there was a 300 percent spike in clicks on yoga, as people in lockdown looked at it for its stress relief and health benefits. Whereas, running showed a 41 percent increase and hiking showed an 18 percent increase.
Coming to the retro trends, there was a 236 percent increase in clicks for retro athleisure and the rise of ’90s brands such as Champion, Ellesse and Fila. The search platform also saw a rise in clicks for bright tangerine sportswear for the year. Tie dye, with a 1,000 percent increase in clicks, has been concluded as clear favourite of the year.
The data has been generated by the platform from the purchasing behaviour of 12 million monthly users. The time-frame for report-analysis is from January 1, 2020 to July 21, 2020, and is compared to the same time period in 2019.
