One Google search of the “Best Watches from the 2022 Watches & Wonders’ will result in hundreds of articles listing off timepieces from different brands. But have you ever wondered about the ones that did not make the “Best” list but still deserve a shout-out?

Don’t fret. We are here to take care of that. Here are our top six unsung gems released at the fair this year that deserve some attention.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver

While many focused on the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma Tourbillon Nanograph, this exceptional diver’s watch slipped right under the spotlight. Featuring a brand first Calibre TH30-00 movement produced by Kenissi Manufacture SA, one of the most highly regarded movement manufacturers in the world, this new model marks an important milestone for TAG Heuer.

IWC Big Pilot’s 43 Top Gun

With this classic timepiece, IWC presents the first TOP GUN Big Pilot in a 43mm case size. This 43mm timepiece available in a black zirconium oxide ceramic is a staple in the TOP GUN line since 2012. However, the new case size of 43mm renews the watch and offers maximum comfort on the wrist.

The timepiece is powered by the IWC manufactured 82100 calibre movement that clocks in a power reserve of 60 hours. It is available in a green textile strap that can be changed easily with the help of the integrated EasX-CHANGE® system.

Cartier Santos Dumont

Paying tribute to the historical model are the three new limited-edition pieces of the elegant Santos-Dumont. Set up with three colour variations; burgundy and platinum, beige and gold, and black and steel, each of the timepieces are coated with a thin layer of lacquer and then smoothed and polished by hand. Montblanc 1858 GMT Automatic Date

Despite the many other interesting releases unveiled by Montblanc at the 2022 Watches & Wonders, the one that showcased promise (despite not much fanfare) is the subtly attractive 1858 GMT Automatic Date.

With this timepiece, Montblanc offers an intuitive way of keeping track of time in different time zones without hands. How is that possible? With the help of a red square that moved around the outside of the dial. This red square sits right next to the black or blue aluminium bezel and shows the 24-hour clock. The beauty of this system is that it also indicates the half-hours with a red rectangle for the half-hours and a full red square for the hours.
